Knickerbockers Earn 4-3 Win Versus Quakers
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Jim Fulkerson, the New York Knickerbockers defeated the Philadelphia Quakers, 4-3. Fulkerson went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Knickerbockers. With the win, New York elevates its record to 5-4.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with New York trailing 3-2, Fulkerson hit a fastball from Pete Stack for a 2-run home run, giving the Knickerbockers the walk-off win.
"This was a good win," said Fulkerson.
