Industrials Edge Philadelphia in Pitching Duel
The Philadelphia Quakers got a sterling performance from pitcher Miguel Jimenez, but the Pittsburgh Industrials still prevailed, 1-0. Jimenez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Gordie Kleiss, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Ike Travis wrapped it up, recording his 28th save.

Rob Isenbarger drove in one run for Pittsburgh. The 28-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Miguel Jimenez. It was his 32nd RBI of the season.

"I have a job to do," Isenbarger said, "and I did it."
