Cincinnati Downs Milwaukee, 3-1
|
The Cincinnati Packers picked up a win at Roman Arena, courtesy of Dave Pelton. The right-hander helped his team stop the Milwaukee Dairymen, 3-1. Pelton, now 7-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. With the win, Cincinnati has a record of 36-52. Milwaukee falls to 27-62.
Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead on Jerry Anderson's 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Anderson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Ollie Aldredge visibly frustrated.
Pelton told a Cincinnati Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
