Victory Takes Pobladores to 51-39
|
Los Angeles turned a good effort from starter Phil Lester into a win over the Houston Drillers at San Vicente Park. The final score was 5-2. Lester picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-11. Larry Seger collected his 14th save.
Manuel Castillo was 1-4 for Los Angeles. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Larry Bilski. It was his 77th hit of the season.
"Phil executed his pitches at a high level," said Los Angeles manager Alex Wobbema.
With the victory, the Pobladores upped their record to 51-39.
