Packers Win, 4-1, at Philadelphia
The Cincinnati Packers beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 4-1, at Quakers Stadium. Starting pitcher Dave Pelton was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Pelton, now 7-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Ismael Gutierrez earned the save, his 1st in 1 tries.

It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Mike Clement, the 25-year old third baseman . Clement contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-0.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Pelton.

The victory makes Cincinnati 29-64.
