Dallas Hot Streak Continues with 5-4 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Rodney Holt, the Dallas Wranglers defeated the Detroit Wolverines, 5-4. Holt was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Wranglers. Steve Coomes picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 13-4. Barry Gilmore, credited with the save, is now 12 for 12 in save opportunities.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for John Darnell? The Dallas shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 5-4. For the game, Darnell had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
