Kansas City Hot Streak Continues with 8-5 Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Kansas City Bulls.
St. Louis first baseman Bob Raab was sensational. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Kansas City beat the Explorers, 8-5. Tim McDonald, who finished 5th in the NBL in strikeouts with 169 in 1970, was the winner. He's now 7-8. The loser was Marty Clark. Bob Crosby got the save, his 18th in 22 chances.
With Kansas City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Tim McDonald hit a 2-run single off St. Louis pitcher Marty Clark. It put the Bulls ahead 3-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
The Bulls, at 49-41, have now won 8 straight.
