Northmen Edge Past Emeralds, 10-9
The Twin Cities Northmen overcame a good performance by Seattle third baseman Charlie Hall to knock off Seattle, 10-9, at Twin Cities Stadium. Hall went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Twin Cities reliever Bob Cole picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Leon Finkel was saddled with the loss. Seattle is 6-3 after the defeat.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mike McGurn in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a grand slam home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Leon Finkel to win the game for Twin Cities. The home crowd went nuts.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," McGurn said.
