Emeralds Win at Twin Cities, 7-4
|
The Twin Cities Northmen got a superb performance from right fielder Steve Garcia, but the Seattle Emeralds still won the game, 7-4. Garcia was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Hector Contreras earned the win to go to 4-8. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The win puts Seattle at 37-55.
Seattle relied on the hitting of Mark Clark to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Emeralds on top, 3-0. For the game, Clark had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Clark told the Seattle Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
