Dallas Sent Home with 5-2 Loss

The Seattle Emeralds defeated the Dallas Wranglers, 5-2, in American Baseball League action at Bluff Park. Seattle pitcher Mike Harris had a standout performance. Harris picked up the win for Seattle, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 8-4. Picking up the save was Darrell Klug. He's now 29 for 31 in save chances.
Dave Thomas had a big 2-run double for the Emeralds in the top of the sixth inning. With Seattle leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Barry Gilmore, who led the ABL in strikeouts with 249 in 1972, and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 5-1.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Thomas told the Seattle Daily.
The Emeralds, now 46-46, have won 5 in a row.
