Northmen Suffer 3-2 Loss to Toronto
|
The Toronto Hurons eked out a 3-2 win versus the Twin Cities Northmen at Dominion Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Tommy Lloyd. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Lloyd, now 8-6. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. With the win, the Hurons improved to 42-53.
The Hurons got a big at-bat from third baseman Dave Hunter. For the game, Hunter went 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Toronto a 3-2 lead.
Toronto manager Jim Burns commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
