Knickerbockers Win with Late Heroics
Though he had a terrific game, Ron Roe could not prevent his team, the San Diego Captains, from absorbing a loss. New York won the game, 5-4. Roe was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Ollie Hundley in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Brian Meade took the loss for San Diego. New York has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

The Knickerbockers got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Bob White. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Knickerbockers.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said White.
