The Detroit Wolverines took on the Boston Terriers at Wolverine Field.

The Detroit Wolverines pinned a convincing loss on the Boston Terriers, 10-3, at Wolverine Field. Duane Simmons was a main factor in the win. He went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Detroit. Juan Rodriguez was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Jepperson.

Detroit center fielder Jerry Plumley contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Wolverines ahead, 6-3.

Plumley told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."

The loss puts Boston at 3-6.
