Bluebirds Turn Back Denver, 4-2
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds racked up a win at Flatbush Park, bumping off the Denver Burros, 4-2. Bill Keiser, who started for Brooklyn, pitched effectively for his team. The Bluebirds raised their record to 44-51.
The Bluebirds got a big hit from third baseman Mark Bassett. In the bottom of the fifth, Bassett pounded a run-scoring double to right-center. His 15th double of the season put the Bluebirds ahead, 2-0.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Keiser.
