Bluebirds Drop 5-3 Decision to Burros
|
The Denver Burros and Brooklyn Bluebirds completed their game despite the rain.
The Denver Burros beat the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 5-3, at Gates Crescent Park. The Burros got a fine performance from right fielder Ron Roe, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Frank Combs earned the save for Denver, his 16th of the year.
Jimmy Benson drove in one run for Denver. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Frank D'Amico. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Benson told the Denver Daily.
The win for the Burros raised their record to 60-35.
