Industrials Suffer 6-1 Loss to Cincinnati
|
The Cincinnati Packers picked up a win at Roman Arena, knocking off the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-1. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Armando Estrada. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Estrada. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Gene Steinhauer. The 5th-place Packers now have a record of 45-52.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the sixth inning, but Estrada was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Pittsburgh trailing 2-1, Estrada retired Terry McClellan, who grounded out.
