The St. Louis Explorers got a stellar effort from pitcher Randy Birch, helping St. Louis score a win over the visiting Milwaukee Dairymen, 2-0. The win makes St. Louis 42-52.
Birch was the winner. He's now 5-4, after putting the Milwaukee offense in a vise grip. Over 8 innings, he gave up no runs on 4 hits, while racking up 6 Ks.
