The Montreal Habitants earned a close win over the Los Angeles Pobladores, thanks in part to Erv Koenig. The Montreal left-hander, who finished 4th in the NBL in strikeouts with 165 in 1974, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Montreal now sits at 48-47, while Los Angeles falls to 53-41.

Had Ron Somers delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Somers struck out. The score remained 3-1, Montreal, and the Habitants were out of the jam.
