Bluebirds Dump Denver, 6-2, to Win 5th in a Row
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds beat the Denver Burros, 6-2. Brooklyn pitcher and St. Louis, Missouri, native Damon Rutherford led the way. The Bluebirds, now 47-48, have won 5 in a row.
The Bluebirds got a big at-bat from third baseman Bob Rawlins. For the game, Rawlins was 1-4 with a double. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
Rawlins called the win "a team effort."
