Pobladores Defeat Habitants, 5-3
The Los Angeles Pobladores defeated the Montreal Habitants, 5-3, in 11 innings in American Baseball League action at LaSalle Stadium. Los Angeles pitcher Phil Lester had a standout performance. Larry Seger came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 6-4. Tony Novotny earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Joe Roberson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Pobladores on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Roberson said.

The Pobladores improved their record to 54-41 by beating Montreal.
