Captains third baseman Darrell Conley put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the New York Knickerbockers. Conley went 1 for 3 with a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for San Diego in the contest. San Diego is now 48-49, New York 48-48.

Had Jerry Olsen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Olsen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Captains.

"It never gets old," said Conley. "Winning, that is."
