Habitants Topple Drillers with Late Rally
|
Sam Houston Field was the site of a tense game between the Houston Drillers and Montreal Habitants.
The Habitants grabbed a win, 3-2, at Sam Houston Field, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Syed Farooqi. Farooqi went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Al Johns was credited with the save, his 21st in 25 tries.
Kenny Kwiatkowski contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. His at-bat helped Montreal get the win.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Kwiatkowski. "You've got to get results."
The win gives Montreal a season record of 52-45.
