Bluebirds Rally to Beat Captains, 4-2
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds faced a tough opponent in San Diego pitcher Ray Heath, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Diego Sporting Complex by a final score of 4-2. Heath went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Kevin Wade earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 5-5. The win hiked the Brooklyn record to 49-48.
Bob Rawlins came through with a big-time hit for Brooklyn. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Rawlins.
