Late Rally by Pobladores Locks Up 9-6 Win
A 5-RBI performance from Paul McCarthy, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Los Angeles Pobladores beat the Baltimore Lords, 9-6. Los Angeles reliever Dave Young snagged the win, upping his record to 4-3. Denny Boyd shouldered the loss. Larry Seger, credited with the save, is now 6 for 8 in save opportunities.

In the top of the eighth, the Pobladores grabbed the lead when McCarthy hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Denny Boyd made it 9-6, Los Angeles.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Steve Read told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."

The 4th-place Lords have lost 6 consecutive games.
