Atlanta Shuts Out Baltimore, 1-0
|
Bill Davis was in a mood to talk following the Atlanta Generals contest against the Baltimore Lords, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Lords, 1-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Davis said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Baltimore on a 5-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 4 strikeouts.
To date this season, Davis sports a 9-4 mark with a 1.92 ERA in 21 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .205 batting average and has 88 strikeouts in 159.1 innings.
