The Cincinnati Packers went home winners at Lakefront Stadium, thanks in large part to starter John Stoddard. Stoddard stifled the Cleveland Bobcats, enabling Cincinnati to grab the 6-0 win. With the win, Cincinnati lifts its record to 6-4.

Cincinnati shortstop Glen Bennett helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Bennett told the Cincinnati Observer.
