Houston got a terrific game from catcher Ron Ketchum. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 6-3. Ketchum was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bobby Peters picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 10-5. Chuck Hentschel converted his 2nd save in 7 tries.

Jerry Bischoff, the 30-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bischoff contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Chicago up, 4-2.
