Captains Win Squeaker, 7-6, Over Bluebirds

The San Diego Captains defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-6, at San Diego Sporting Complex. San Diego was led by 28-year old second baseman Waymond Henry, who went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. San Diego, at 61-39, is 5 games up in the National Baseball League Western Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Diego catcher Earl Peters, facing Bob Hill, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Captains the 7-6 win.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Peters said.
