Drillers Take Home 2-0 Win Over Atlanta
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Drillers and the Atlanta Generals, Francisco Castro was the X factor. The Houston right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. The winner was Castro. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Paul Darch. Larry Bilski was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 15 save opportunities.
Had Paul Darch delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Darch struck out. The score remained 2-0, Houston, and the Drillers were out of the jam.
The third-place Drillers have won 6 consecutive games.
