Twin Cities pitcher Gerald Gross did his part in helping his team beat the Atlanta Generals, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Gross got the win, improving to 6-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The 6th-place Northmen improved to 46-57.

Steve Pavey hit a 2-run double off Bill Davis in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Northmen in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Pavey had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"I'm happy we won," said Gross. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
