Cleveland Bobcats starter Myron Baird pitched a strong game against the Pittsburgh Industrials at Allegheny Field, leading the Bobcats to victory, 6-4. With the win, Cleveland has a record of 63-38. Pittsburgh falls to 59-44.
Tom Crowell, who finished 2nd in the NBL in triples with 11 in 1970, helped out the Cleveland cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 3 walks in 5 plate appearances.
