Northmen Nip Hawks, 7-6
The performance of Steve Pavey proved critical in helping Twin Cities beat Chicago, 7-6, in 11 innings. The Northmen second baseman went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jeff Jordan was credited with the save, his 5th in 10 tries. The setback makes Chicago 37-68.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Pavey delivered big-time for Twin Cities, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Gary Ingram. The game-changing hit put the Northmen on top, 7-6.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Pavey, "but we got it done."
