Cleveland Bobcats starter Rick Tomlinson was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Kansas City Bulls, 3-0. The victory gives the Bobcats a record of 69-35.

Bill Harper, who finished 2nd in the NBL in runs with 132 in 1970, had a direct impact on the outcome. Harper contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Cleveland up, 1-0.
