Wolverines Deal Dallas 2-1 Defeat
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Detroit Wolverines and the Dallas Wranglers. Detroit won it, 2-1. Detroit starter Doug Fiorentino was in command. Darrell Klug nailed down his 15th save. With the win, Detroit pushed its record to 52-52.
Booker Lee had a big run-scoring double for the Wolverines in the bottom of the second inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from 15-year veteran Charlie Sokol and swatted a double to right. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolverines ahead, 2-0.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Lee said.
