Industrials Lose to Eagles, 6-3
|
The Eagles grabbed a win, 6-3, at Monument Field, overcoming a fine effort from Pittsburgh pitcher Dennis Visco. Visco went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Tom McAteer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities. The first-place Industrials have lost 5 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the seventh, Washington second baseman Mark Thomas hit a run-scoring single to right-center field. The clutch hit made it, 4-3, Eagles.
"It feels good to get this one," Thomas told the Washington News.
