Wranglers Drop Generals, 3-2

In a low-scoring contest between the Dallas Wranglers and the Atlanta Generals, Steve Coomes, who finished 5th in the ABL in wins with 16 in 1969, proved to be the difference. The Dallas right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Wranglers win. Charlie Sokol picked up the save, his 5th. Atlanta now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
The Wranglers got a big at-bat from catcher Fred Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 1-2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Dallas a 2-1 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
