The Houston Drillers defeated the Dallas Wranglers, 6-4, in American Baseball League action at Sam Houston Field. Houston pitcher Danny Prentice had a standout performance. Prentice went the distance for Houston. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. The win for the Drillers lifted their record to 59-45.

Houston took a 6-4 lead on Bill Goff's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Dallas pitcher Warren Washington in the bottom of the eighth.
