Drake Delivers 1-0 Win
|
Queens Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
George Drake never let the Empires get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Habitants to a win, 1-0. Montreal has a 3-game win streak, while New York has lost 3 in a row.
Drake's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 5 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 2 hits. Drake goes to 2-1 on the year with 42 strikeouts.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Montreal skipper Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
