The Dallas Wranglers defeated the Detroit Wolverines, 8-7, at Wolverine Field. Dallas was led by 24-year old second baseman Mel Gaines, who was 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The victory gives Dallas a record of 56-49.

Dallas used a timely hit from Chikashi Yoshimura to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 16th inning to put the Wranglers ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Detroit manager Kurt Peterson.
