Emeralds Take Down Habitants, 5-4
|
In the 5-4 Seattle win over Montreal, the impact of Roberto Salazar was substantial. Salazar, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in triples with 8, was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Seattle reliever Phil Moore got the win, raising his record to 9-5. Oscar Rodela was tagged with the loss. Seattle now sits at 59-47, while Montreal falls to 51-57.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Salazar delivered big-time for Seattle, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Al Johns. The game-changing hit put the Emeralds on top, 5-4.
Seattle manager Mark Velez called it "a good, solid win."
