Pittsburgh picked up a win at Allegheny Field, bumping off the Cincinnati Packers, 4-3. Pitcher Dick Witt was a major reason the Industrials emerged victorious. The win belonged to John Lonergan in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Dave Young took the loss for Cincinnati. Pittsburgh is now 61-47, 4 games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Pittsburgh shortstop Garry Schon, facing Dave Young, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Industrials the 4-3 win.
