Hawks Rally Late to Clip Dallas
|
Hyde Park Stadium was the site of some high drama.
In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Hawks and the Dallas Wranglers, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Denny Turner proved to be the difference. The Chicago right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Hawks win. Chicago is 45-64 and Dallas, with the loss, 58-51.
The Hawks got a clutch hit from left fielder Ernie Ronnebaum. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hawks.
"This place was rockin'," said Turner.
