San Francisco pitcher Paul Wiley had a large part in his team subduing the Houston Drillers, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Jeff Butler notched his 2nd save in 4 chances. The Seagulls improved their record to 65-44 by beating Houston.

San Francisco relied on the hitting of Jose Barroso to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Seagulls on top, 3-0. For the game, Barroso had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
