Empires Roll Over Generals, 11-1
New York Empires starter Elliot Diehl had all his pitches working at Queens Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 11-1 New York win over the Atlanta Generals. Diehl, now 9-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. The win lifted the New York record to 56-53.

The Empires got an important contribution from center fielder Jerry Parker, who in the bottom of the first punched a 0-1 sinker into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Empires ahead, 5-0.

Parker told a New York Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
