Baltimore starter John Fredrick pitched well against the New York Empires at Queens Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2, in 13 innings. Baltimore raised its record to 57-52 with the win.

George McIntyre came through with a big-time hit for Baltimore. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Lords manager Steve Read.
