The Pittsburgh Industrials defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-4. Right Fielder Lew Ward deserved a large share of the credit. Ward was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Industrials. Frank Combs earned the win for Pittsburgh. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 4-0. With the win, the Industrials hiked their record to 71-39.

With Pittsburgh leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Ward hit a curveball from Dave Teckenbrock for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Industrials ahead, 4-1.
