Dallas Makes It 6 Straight with 5-4 Win
Bluff Park was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Dallas Wranglers beat the Houston Drillers by a score of 5-4. Dallas third baseman Don Hughes deserved the lion's share of the credit. Hughes was 2 for 2 with a double for the Wranglers. Dallas reliever Vern Gould was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jeff Ferguson took the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Dallas catcher Terry Meola, facing Jeff Ferguson, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Wranglers the 5-4 win.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Hughes told the Dallas Herald.

The win gives the Wranglers a record of 7-4.
