Bobcats Top Eagles, 6-1
|
The Cleveland Bobcats went home winners at Lakefront Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Doug Leonard. Leonard stifled the Washington Eagles, enabling Cleveland to grab the 6-1 win. In 8 innings, Leonard surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. With the win, the Bobcats sit at 56-53.
Greg Clement dealt the Eagles a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Cleveland leading 1-0, Clement hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Clement. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
