Good production from catcher Tony Martinez helped the Philadelphia Quakers topple the New York Knickerbockers, 8-6. Martinez was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Quakers. Philadelphia is now 55-55, while New York is 57-54.

Martinez had a game-changing triple in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch splitter from Steve Eaton, he banged a run-scoring triple to left-center, giving the Quakers a 7-6 lead. It was the 3rd triple of the year for Martinez.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Martinez said.
