Generals Reel Off Another Win
|
Atlanta Generals starter Bruce Owen kept the Baltimore Lords hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-2 win. Owen picked up the win for Atlanta, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-5. Ron Winder earned the save for Atlanta, his 19th of the year.
Roberto Palacios, who finished 3rd in the ABL in home runs with 24 in 1974, helped out the Atlanta cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Palacios told the Atlanta Observer.
The 5th-place Generals have won 6 consecutive games.
