Late Rally by Wolverines Locks Up 3-2 Win
|
Detroit pitcher Scott Litwak did his part in helping his team beat the Montreal Habitants, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Detroit pitcher Alfredo Morales earned the win, hiking his record to 3-4. Jerry Meek suffered the loss. With the win, the Wolverines sit at 60-51.
Detroit used a timely hit from Emil Wathen to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I still think this team can play even better," Litwak told the Detroit News.
