Behind a solid performance from right fielder Al Castro, the New York Empires defeated the Montreal Habitants, 3-2. Castro went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times for the Empires. The save was credited to Jack Pratt, his 3rd. The triumph puts New York at 65-46 for the season.

Castro had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Bob Schar, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Empires a 3-2 lead. It was the 27th home run of the year for Castro.

"I really like what we did out there today," Castro said after the game.
