Quakers Dealt 6-5 Loss by New York
Knickerbockers second baseman Steve Wright left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Quakers. Wright, who is tied for 6th in the NBL in hits with 129, was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New York in the contest. New York reliever Bruce Owen picked up the win to move to 2-1. Arnold Jarry suffered the loss. Ollie Hundley collected save number 26.

Wright had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Arnold Jarry, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Knickerbockers a 6-5 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Wright.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Wright.

Philadelphia has now lost 4 straight.
