Denver Burros starter Bob Langham pitched his team past the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 4-2. Picking up the save was six-time All-Star Frank Combs. The 5th-place Burros are 55-57.

Kevin Gunn had a big run-scoring double for the Burros in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Denver leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Larry Mitchell, who finished 3rd in the NBL in ERA with 2.00 last year, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Burros ahead, 2-0.

Said losing manager John Trausch: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
