Cincinnati Dealt 7-2 Defeat
|
Eagles left fielder Alan Cassill left his mark on his team's 7-2 win over the Cincinnati Packers. Cassill, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in runs scored with 69, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times for Washington in the contest. The loss makes Cincinnati 53-61.
The Eagles got a big at-bat from second baseman Ed Cook. For the game, Cook went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cassill told the Washington Herald.
